Job Description

The Associate Director, Broadcast Investment is a key member of the Investment team and the leader of a team of subject matter experts responsible for delivering meaningful, forward thinking, and innovative broadcast campaigns. The Associate Director, Broadcast Investment is on the cutting edge of emerging trends and always looking to improve, innovate and push the status quo of our Broadcast Investments product through learning agendas, never-been-done and first-to-market experiments / Test and Learns etc. Who You Are You are forward thinking by nature and love to negotiate the best rates for your clients. A true subject matter expert, you provide education and training for your immediate team as well as the wider agency group. To fulfil these requirements, the Investment team must collaborate seamlessly with other functional teams and specialties. This role reports to the Group Account Director & VP, Investment and Partnerships supporting the larger Investment team as well as lead the Broadcast Investment team. Responsibilities Knows and keeps up-to-date on all available market and consumer information necessary to the preparation of the most effective and efficient media planning Works closely with all assigned media personnel in the group with evaluation of media information necessary to the preparation of the media plan that best implements the media objectives and strategies Works hand in hand with their Group Account Director and/or VP, Director of Investment & Partnerships to develop an investment strategy for our clients Determines, supervises & activates the best possible implementation of all approved media plans and projects Maintains the best possible relationship with clients, Account Service teams, and media representatives in order to further mutual interests of the agency and its clients Is responsible for execution of broadcast buys of their assigned client list as well as supervise, delegate, and manage the buyers and assistants of their respective brands Helps to train buyers, associates, and planners in proper methods of preparing, evaluating, and implementing media plans for Broadcast Maintains familiarity with the history, present organization, and procedures of the client, as well as, with conditions in the industry Is at all times alert of new media tools and new opportunities, is forward thinking and proactive in educating our team and clients Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the planning function Qualifications 5+ years of media buying experience with progressive levels of responsibility Demonstrate strong negotiating capability, excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem solving, and, decision-making skills Must possess a general understanding of agency planning procedures and familiarity with internal capabilities Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage to deadlines Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and willingness to assume greater responsibility Understand the elements of a strategic marketing communications plan and be able to actively participate in its generation Ability to effectively oversee and guide a small team, leading through the lens of Humanity Ability to manage simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced technology-oriented environment Our Perks At Havas Canada our people come first which is why we offer a comprehensive total rewards package including: Centralized Downtown Office RRSP Matching Plan Physical & Mental Health Benefits Dedicated Culture Committee & Diversity Team Growth Opportunities & Employer-Paid Professional Development Summer Bonus Days Off and December Holiday Office Closure Paid Parental Top-Up Policy Flexible working options No closed minds here – at Havas Canada, we are an equal opportunity employer committed to the inclusion and accommodation of all individuals in accordance with all applicable laws.
